Anthony Marsh
Anthony Marsh | Investment Executive, Mining Analyst/Geologist

Anthony has broad experience in the mining industry and brings valuable skills to the Sprott and Global teams. A 35 year career in Africa makes him knowledgeable about the geological, mining business and social aspects of minerals investments on that continent. His experience in planning with Anglo American (the biggest mining house in Africa) will be of particular value to investors as the global exploration and amalgamation cycle accelerates in the world.

Anthony spent the first 15 years of his career with various mining companies in technical positions including geologist, manager technical services and chief geologist mines. He then moved into the field of mineral economics and mine analysis, taking a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering (mineral economics). During this period he spent 17 years in strategic long term planning with Anglo Platinum, the world’s largest primary platinum producer. He has also worked for/with JCI, Selection Trust/BP, Rio Tinto, Gold Fields of South Africa, Anglo American, BHP Billiton as well as other smaller mining companies.

With a background in geology Anthony has worked in regional geological mapping, mineral exploration, mine production and financial analysis of mines and mineral projects. His career has covered gold, base metals, industrial minerals, gems and platinum group metals (PGMs). This has afforded him exposure to a range of geological deposits including but not limited to greenstone belts (gold and other minerals), Witwatersrand gold and mafic/ultramafic complexes (PGMs, nickel, chrome).

Anthony is a Fellow of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the Geological Society of South Africa.
