Kenton grew up in Alberta, Canada. He has 10 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry, in the field and office, in a variety of roles and countries. This gives him a sound understanding of what it takes to get oil & gas out of the ground and to the market.
He graduated in 2002 with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Afterwards he went to work in Northern Alberta/British Columbia as a well logging engineer with Precision Energy. This led to postings in Yemen, Australia, and Libya.
Looking to make the switch from a service company to an explorer & producer, Kenton joined Sherritt International’s oil & gas division in Cuba as a drilling engineer. The position grew to include completions and production engineering where he was involved in the majority of the company’s operations. He also participated in drilling an off-shore exploration well in the Black Sea off the coast of Turkey.
In addition to his expertise in oil & gas, Kenton has been a long time student of Austrian Economics and the precious metals markets. He spent a year as a broker with Miles Franklin advising clients on all the options and reasons for owning gold and silver bullion.
Kenton is a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), has a Series 7 license, Series 66 license, Canadian Securities Course (CSC), and completed level 1 of the CFA program.
